What is documentary wedding photography?

Documentary wedding photography is all about capturing real moments naturally as they happen. Rather than constantly posing you throughout the day, I focus on genuine emotions, laughter, happy tears, little in-between moments and the atmosphere of your wedding day so your photos feel authentic and full of life.

We feel awkward in front of the camera........ Can you help?

Absolutely. Most of my couples tell me this before their wedding. My approach is very relaxed and unobtrusive, so there’s no pressure to perform or pose perfectly. I gently guide you when needed while allowing you to enjoy the moment naturally.

Do you pose couples?

I keep posing very natural and minimal. I’ll give gentle direction where needed so you never feel uncomfortable or unsure what to do, but I always want your connection and personalities to shine through naturally.

What if it rains on our wedding day?

Rain never ruins a wedding day. Some of the most romantic and emotional images happen in unexpected weather. I always come prepared and can work creatively indoors or outdoors to make sure your gallery still feels beautiful and magical.

How far in advance should we book?

Most couples book 12–24 months in advance, especially for popular summer dates and weekends. I’d always recommend getting in touch as soon as you have your venue secured.

How many hours of coverage do we need?

Most couples choose coverage from getting ready through to the first dance so the full story of the day is captured naturally. However, packages can be tailored depending on your plans.

How many photos will we receive?

Every wedding is different, but you can typically expect a carefully edited gallery filled with all the important moments, emotions and details from your day.

How long will it take to receive our wedding photos?

You’ll receive a small preview shortly after the wedding, with your full gallery delivered within the timeframe discussed in your contract.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes, I’m based in East Sussex but I’m always happy to travel for weddings across the UK.

Have you photographed at our venue before?

Even if I haven’t photographed at your venue before, I always arrive prepared and quickly adapt to the lighting, surroundings and atmosphere of the space.

What happens during couple portraits?

Nothing overly staged or awkward. This is usually just a relaxed little breather away from the guests where you can spend a few quiet moments together while I gently capture natural interaction and emotion.

How long do group photos take?

This depends on the number of group combinations you’d like, but I always try to keep them organised and efficient so you can get back to enjoying your day.

Do you offer engagement shoots?

Yes, engagement shoots are a lovely way for us to get to know each other before the wedding and help you feel more comfortable in front of the camera.

Do you offer wedding albums?

Yes, beautiful professional albums are available so your memories can be preserved and enjoyed for years to come.

What should we do if we want to book?

Simply get in touch through my contact form with your wedding date, venue and a little about your plans. I’d love to hear all about your day.
